Daily Announcements - Friday, September 13th

The first Mountain Bike Club meeting is today at lunch in Mr. May's room, room 322. Come to find out about their plans for the season, hang with friends, and most importantly, eat cookies.

The High School Comedy Sportz League is hosting its second open call rehearsal today, September 13th from 3-4 in room 617. Come to improv, no experience necessary.

Find out more about Science Olympiad at the information meeting in room 308 on Monday, September 16th at lunch.

Student Voices is starting on campus next Tuesday, September 17. These are panel discussions that will come up with a plan to address a topic that the school voted on at the end of last year. The first panel is on STRESS!

Class Ring orders will be taken Wednesday, September 18th by the Student Store during break & lunch. You can design your custom CdM Class Ring online at Jostens.com. Extra ordering packets are available in the Student Store.

Kings Krew Shirts - Get your Kings Krew shirts before we sell out. Our Kings Krew shirts are on sale now in the Student Store. You get a Blue and Pink Kings Krew shirt for only $15. This is a reminder to all athletes who are currently in a 7th/8th period athletic class. You are to report to the gym wearing a Blue Kings Krew shirt at 1:30 this afternoon for an athletic meeting. This meeting will take no more than 15 minutes.

Congratulations to Boys Water Polo for beating Long Beach Wilson yesterday, 12-11, in a very close and intense game. The team was led by Tanner Pulice's 7 goals and Tyler Harvey's 5 assists. The team extended their undefeated record to 6 and 0 and play again next week. Keep it up guys!

Students enrolled in online American Democracy must attend one of the following mandatory orientation meetings in the #232 computer lab, Friday, September 13th during zero period. Check School Loop or contact Mr. Hiles for more details.

Boys water polo look to continue their undefeated season with a game today against Long Beach Wilson at home. Frosh/Soph plays at 3:00, JV at 4:00, and Varsity at 5:00pm. Come out and support. 

Kings Krew event: Girls Volleyball - Battle of the Bay at Newport Harbor today at 6:30pm and tomorrow Varsity Football at home vs Lakewood! Come on down in your Kings Krew Shirts.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

On Wednesday, September 18th, we'll host a PTA meeting just for Middle School parents in the Little Gym (where you came for Registration.) Parents will be introduced to principals, staff members, school board representatives and our school resource officer. Middle School PTA Presidents will share about opportunities to volunteer and connect with our Sea King community. PTA meetings begin with coffee and conversation at 8:45am, the meeting portion will start at 9am.  Our neighbors at Our Lady Queen of Angels allow CdM parents to park in their parking lot for our meetings. Please allow a few extra minutes to check in at the office, especially if it's your first time. You will need your Driver's License.

If you are interested in trying out or returning to Youth and Government for the 2019/2020 school year, you must attend the informational meeting on Wednesday, September 11th in the gym.

We will have updates from our Principals, School Board Representatives, Officer Clemente and ONE on Campus as well as news about other campus happenings.

We are collecting snack donations for ONE on Campus. This program provides our kids with a space to connect with each other and a trusted adult as well as grab a snack, charge a phone or just take a breather at break or lunch. Please join us in bringing some of your student's favorite snacks to our meeting! Don’t forget to bring your ID and save a few extra minutes to check in at the office…and remember that OLQA allows parents to park in their church parking lot for our PTA meetings.
